The Wolfgirl Directory

Welcome to the wolfgirl directory, which is... a directory of wolfgirls!

These are basically just characters that I personally think are neat, and is not at all meant to be an exhaustive list of wolfgirls I've encountered (or even an exhaustive list of wolfgirls in a particular series). So, that said:

Elsa Bete - Symphogear

Elsa Bête from Symphogear XV. She's a short, white, pink-haired wolfgirl wearing a short black dress with red leggings, a white bib, and a collar with a gold tag. She's in a rocky location on all fours in an aggressive stance, having just attached her tail claw from a nearby briefcase. There's lighting being emitted from her.

Elsa Bête from Symphogear XV. She's a short, white, pink-haired wolfgirl wearing a short black dress with a white bib, and a collar with a gold tag. She's inside somewhere and has her hand held up, as if holding or gesturing at something.
Elsa Bete in episode 6 of Symphogear XV, Satelight & T2studio.

Elsa Bete is a member of 'Noble Red', the antagonist group of Symphogear XV. She was a test subject of the Bavarian Illuminati (long story) and became a self-described monster with wolf ears and a detachable tail claw. While she doesn't particularly enjoy fighting, she is more than willing to do so in order to protect the other members of her team and carve out a place for them in the world.

Although Noble Red canonically perish in the finale episodes of XV, it's not hard to imagine them surviving and continuing to interact with the rest of the cast. Despite not geting as much spotlight as the other members of Noble Red, Elsa's twitchy demeanour and wolfish tendencies still make her a standout character.

Momiji Inubashiri - Touhou Project

Momiji Inubashiri from Touhou, in Symposium of Post-mysticism. She has one hand under her chin, as if in deep thought, while examining a shogi piece and squinting at it with one eye. Other shogi pieces can be seen falling around her, as well as a sword to the left.
Momiji Inubashiri in Symposium of Post-mysticism, Masakichi.
Momiji Inubashiri from Touhou, in The Focal Length is Nine Feet. She's smiling and raising a hand in greeting.
Momiji Inubashiri in The Focal Length is Nine Feet, Nio Nakatani.
Momiji Inubashiri from Touhou, in Until the Water Became Wholly Red. She's looking to the right of the image with a somewhat suprised expression, with a little drop to indicate she's sweating.
Momiji Inubashiri in Until the Water Became Wholly Red, Ashiyama Yoshinori.

Momiji Inubashiri is a white wolf tengu from Touhou Project. She patrols Youkai Mountain and appeared as a midboss in the tenth Touhou game Mountain of Faith, although she didn't have much of an appearance. Despite this, she is popular and appears fairly often in fanworks.

Depictions of Momiji vary a fair bit: sometimes she's upbeat and reasonably friendly, other times she's a harsh and unyielding warrior, and she can also just be a downtrodden patrol tengu who's resigned to being kicked around by her bosses. However she always has some kind of relationship with crow tengu reporters Aya Shameimaru and Hatate Himekaidou, and she loves to play shogi.

Kagerou Imaizumi - Touhou Project

Kagerou Imaizumi from Touhou, in Alternative Facts in Eastern Utopia. She's sitting at a table with an ornate teacup on a saucer, and gesturing at something while smiling. Her nails are extremely pointed and sharp. Behind her is an assortment of random items, including some electronics.
Kagerou Imaizumi in Alternative Facts in Eastern Utopia, Kaho Mizunaka.
Kagerou Imaizumi from Touhou, in Hungry Wolf. She's looking directly ahead with one hand raised to her chest. In this artstyle, she doesn't appear to have much of a nose.
Kagerou Imaizumi in Hungry Wolf, Syuiko.
Kagerou Imaizumi from Touhou, in Just a Few Square Feet Will Do. She's dressed in something resembling a hoodie and sweatshorts rather than her usual dress, and is grimacing while standing. She is moving to grab something to the right of the image.
Kagerou Imaizumi in Just a Few Square Feet Will Do, Fuuzasa.

Kagerou Imaizumi is a werewolf youkai from Touhou Project. She lives in the Bamboo Forest of the Lost, appearing as a boss in the fourteenth Touhou game Double Dealing Character. She is quite popular and appears in both official works and fanworks.

She's quite self-conscious about her wolfish traits, particularly her hair: she goes to special lengths to hide it with her clothing and dress. She's part of the Grassroots Youkai Network, an organization of weaker youkai who can band together and share information to stay afloat in Gensokyo. She's particularly close with the mermaid Wakasagihime, and their relationship is the focus of many fanworks involving her.

Projekt Red - Arknights

Projekt Red in Arknights (standard outfit), infukun.
Projekt Red in episode 6 of Perish in Frost, Yostar Pictures.
Projekt Red in Full Moon, YUYANSHU13.

Projekt Red (codename, real name unknown) is a Lupo from Arknights. She's an assassin for the protagonist faction 'Rhodes Island', as well as a member of their internal security team. While her exact origins are unknown, from a young age she was taken in by a mysterious figure and trained to fight in a sort of proxy death game organised by some ancient wolf gods. After being rescued/diverted from this fate by Dr. Kal'tsit, she now uses her skill with a knife to kill important targets and protect VIPs for Rhodes Island.

Red isn't the most popular Arknights character, but still manages to feature in a fair few fanworks. As informed by her in-game files and story content, she's usually trying to find something resembling community and a life outside of being a weapon. She also loves to snuggle in the tails of other Lupo, particularly the exceptionally fluffy tail of Provence.

Texas - Arknights

Texas in Arknights ('Willpower' outfit), Huànxiàng Hēi Tù.
Texas in chapter 18 of Arknights: Operators, Kyo Zip.
Texas in episode 7 of Prelude to Dawn, Yostar Pictures.

Texas (codename, real name Cellinia Texas) is a Lupo from Arknights. She's a member of 'Penguin Logistics', nominally a delivery service based in the mobile city of Lungmen. Her origins are in the Texas mafia family, which left Siracusa (Arknights Italy) for Columbia (Arknights USA) before later attempting a coup against the head of the Siracusan mafia (which failed horribly). Long story short, Texas survived that by making a deal with a wolf god, managed to just leave and do Penguin Logistics stuff for a bit, and then got dragged back into A Situation in Siracusa and lots of stuff happened. Anyway she's fine now.

Texas is one of the more popular Arknights characters, starring in several events and featuring in a wide array of fanworks. The vast majority of these focus on her fraught relationship with Lappland, to varying degrees of drama and tragedy. Despite her capacity for extreme violence, she's generally quite easygoing and enjoys hanging out with the rest of the Penguin Logistics crew, and is borderline dependent on pocky.

Felsi Rollo - Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury

Felsi Rollo in season 1, episode 1 of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Sunrise.
Felsi Rollo in, season 1, episode 3 of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Sunrise.
Felsi Rollo in season 2, episode 9 of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Sunrise.

Okay, so I know what you're thinking. "Felsi isn't a wolfgirl! There aren't any animal people in G-Witch at all! This isn't a thing." And these things, strictly speaking, are true. However: Felsi Rollo is one of the most wolfgirl-coded characters I have ever seen. Messy, fluffy light brown hair. Gold eyes. Slightly growling voice. Great physical presence. If there were people walking around with animal ears in WfM, Felsi Rollo would absolutely be a wolfgirl. Also this is my list so there.

Anyway, Felsi is ultimately a supporting character without a huge amount dialogue or screentime, especially in the middle stretch of the show. Despite this, she has captured the hearts and minds of the people- okay look there's a decent amount of fanart and stuff of her hanging out with Petra who is definitely her girlfriend. Also she's just a good henchman when the show's in School Hijinks mode and gets an incredible appearance during an otherwise lacklustre finale. Felsi's great.
